Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget is showing its ambition to expand its business in the Latin American region with the appointment of Binance's former regional Vice President.

Crypto exchange Bitget appointed former Binance Regional Vice President Min Lin as Chief Business Officer, according to an announcement on Monday. Lin, who previously served as Regional Vice President for Latin America and Head of Business Development at Binance starting in 2023, will lead Bitget’s expansion plans.

Lin brings to Bitget extensive experience in both traditional and web3 markets, including his tenure as Executive Director in the Global Markets Division at Goldman Sachs.

“Min’s expertise will play a pivotal role in our mission to expand and innovate,” said Gracy Chen, CEO of Bitget. Currently, Bitget is among the top 10 largest crypto exchanges worldwide, serving 45 million users across various countries and regions, with active users increasing by 98% in 2024.

At Binance, Lin “played a critical role in securing licensing agreements, building relationships with regulatory bodies, ensuring compliance, and promoting strategic expansion,” said a Bitget spokesperson. In his new role, he will help Bitget strengthen its presence in key regional markets, including Latin America.
