According to Telegram founder Pavel Durov, the meteoric rise of the game Hamster Kombat and its upcoming token launch on the TON blockchain have the potential to onboard hundreds of millions of people to the Web3 ecosystem.
In a public post to his Telegram channel’s 2.7 million subscribers, Durov highlighted the phenomenal success of the clicker game Hamster Kombat. Since its launch in March 2024, the game has attracted over 200 million players.
Durov pointed out some of Hamster Kombat’s impressive statistics, including the fact that it reached 100 million monthly users in just 73 days. According to Durov, Telegram’s mini app has been adding 4-5 million new users daily, making it one of the fastest-growing digital services in the world.

When Will Hamster Kombat Launch Its Token?
Durov also mentioned the highly anticipated token airdrop of Hamster Kombat, although a specific date has not yet been confirmed. The project’s official roadmap on its website indicates that on-chain infrastructure and in-game wallet implementation were completed in June.
“Soon, the Hamster team will mint its token on TON, introducing the benefits of blockchain to hundreds of millions of people. A new era is arriving, and we are witnessing its arrival in real-time,” Durov wrote.
Although the development team has not disclosed further details about the official token launch date, players have been able to link TON wallets in the game since June 2024.
The game’s developers have also made numerous posts on Telegram, X (formerly Twitter), and YouTube, emphasizing that profit per hour is the most crucial metric players should consider ahead of the token airdrop.

The development team has also applied for a Guinness World Record as the first YouTube channel to gain over 10 million subscribers in one week (6 days, 13 hours, and 15 minutes), among other subscriber-related milestones.
