In a blog post published on August 20, FLOKI revealed that Binance will support the meme coin’s airdrop, following a snapshot scheduled for August 29, 2024. The Floki team stated, “If you hold FLOKI on Binance, there’s no need to transfer your tokens. The $CAT tokens will be directly airdropped to your Binance account.”

Important information for Floki users:

To be eligible for the airdrop, participants must hold at least 400,000 FLOKI on Binance, roughly equivalent to $50 at current market prices. The airdrop will distribute 900 billion CAT tokens to FLOKI holders, which accounts for 20% of the total supply allocated by Simon’s Cat to the Floki community.

Simon’s Cat is a meme coin with a total supply of 9 trillion CAT tokens and will launch on the BNB chain. Floki, along with DWF Labs, is a major partner in the project, which successfully raised $4.25 million during its presale by offering 17% of the total supply to early investors.

The Simon’s Cat airdrop will also extend to Floki Trading Bot users and members of the crypto community on leading centralized exchanges.

Meme Coins Craze

Meme coins have carved out a substantial niche within the crypto ecosystem, driving trading activity and volumes on networks like Solana and Base. However, the frenzy around meme coins has waned recently, with trading volumes on Solana experiencing a notable decline.

Moreover, traders on Pump.fun—a platform that facilitates the launch of instantly tradable tokens—have generally faced losses.

Nevertheless, the meme coin sector continues to draw significant interest from crypto enthusiasts. The latest player in this space is SunPump, a fair launch platform for meme coins on the Tron network. Tron’s founder, Justin Sun, remains optimistic about the future of meme coins on the Tron network.
