Moodeng Coin Surges 39% After Upbit Listing

MOODENG, a meme coin inspired by a viral baby pygmy hippo from Thailand, has seen a spectacular price jump of over 39% following its listing on Upbit, South Korea’s largest cryptocurrency exchange.

Upbit Announces MOODENG Listing

According to the official announcement from Upbit, trading for MOODENG is set to begin at 5:00 PM KST on July 3, with three trading pairs: KRW (Korean Won), BTC (Bitcoin), and USDT (Tether). Upbit noted: “Please ensure you verify the correct network before depositing digital assets. Deposits and withdrawals via unsupported networks will not be processed. If sufficient liquidity is not secured after deposit/withdrawal services begin, trading may be delayed.”

The listing news immediately boosted MOODENG’s price from approximately $0.166 to $0.231 within minutes—an increase of more than 39%. Although the price slightly corrected afterward, MOODENG still recorded a daily gain of 50.7%, making it one of the top-performing coins on CoinGecko in the past 24 hours.

Trading Volume Soars, Market Cap Surpasses $200 Million

Alongside the price rally, MOODENG’s market capitalization surged from $165 million to over $200 million. According to CoinGecko, 24-hour trading volume skyrocketed to $370.6 million, representing an impressive 608% increase compared to the previous day.

Previously, MOODENG had experienced a triple-digit rally in May, fueled by its inclusion on Binance Alpha and support from Robinhood. However, the token entered a downtrend by late May—until positive momentum returned in early July, driven largely by Upbit’s announcement.

In South Korea—one of the world’s most active crypto markets, with over 16 million traders—Upbit accounts for a majority of crypto trading volume. Therefore, MOODENG’s listing significantly boosts both liquidity and visibility, attracting substantial investor attention.

According to Google Trends, search interest for “MOODENG COIN” hit the peak value of 100 earlier today, indicating massive public curiosity. MOODENG has also become the most trending token on CoinGecko.
