Immutable zkEVM to Launch Mainnet Soon

In March 2023, Immutable partnered with Polygon to build its own zkEVM specifically for the gaming sector. After 10 months of development, Immutable zkEVM has opened its mainnet for some partners and game studios to experience. The project aims to enhance the gaming experience for players and facilitate the development of richer and more authentic games.

Immutable zkEVM utilizes zk-rollup technology to be compatible with Ethereum applications, inheriting the security features of the ETH network while offering superior advantages tailored specifically for gaming, such as:

Free gas for gamers using Immutable Passport wallet
Facilitating diverse gameplay
Seamless interaction
Fast transactions

Currently, only a few game studios and partners can deploy smart contracts on the chain. Immutable zkEVM is expected to open its mainnet to the public in the coming weeks.

According to the project team, several prominent games are poised to be launched on Immutable zkEVM, including Guild of Guardians, Metalcore, Shardbound, Treeverse, Cool Cats, BADMAD Robots, Space Nation, Eyeball Games, and Imaginary Ones.

On the other hand, Immutable zkEVM is not the only zkEVM supported by Polygon. Recently, Astar zkEVM, IDEX, Palm Network, and Manta Pacific have also been supported.
