The Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), the governing body for international soccer competitions, is set to launch its exclusive collection of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) before the 2023 Club World Cup in Saudi Arabia. In collaboration with blockchain company Modex, the inaugural collection of 100 NFTs will be unveiled on December 15, offering fans the chance to secure tickets for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In addition to this announcement, December will witness the release of 900 more digital collectibles on the Polygon network (MATIC) and OpenSea. These NFTs will showcase digital representations of memorabilia and significant moments from the ongoing tournament.
“The FIFA Club World Cup, scheduled to kick off on December 12 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, brings together seven of the most distinguished football teams worldwide,” developers stated. “Participating are the champions from all six FIFA confederations.”
Accessible through the FIFA+ Collect platform, the NFTs are powered by Algorand, driving the platform since its launch in September 2022. Francesco Abbate, CEO of Modex, expressed his honor in supporting FIFA’s goal of enhancing fan interaction with their favorite players, teams, and the game through digital collectibles.

Since its inception, the FIFA+ Collect platform has orchestrated eleven NFT releases, resulting in the issuance of 909,255 digital collectibles held by 16,448 users. The platform has seen a combined trading volume of $2.4 million across primary and secondary NFT markets.
However, FIFA+ Collect Info highlights a potential misconception in mint volume, clarifying that it cannot differentiate between packs obtained for free in challenges and those purchased with USDC (USD Coin).
