A major cyberattack occurred when the X account of famous rapper Wiz Khalifa was hacked on November 3. The hacker exploited the account, which has 35.7 million followers, to promote a fraudulent cryptocurrency.
The attacker posted a fake announcement claiming that Khalifa was launching a new cryptocurrency called WIZ. This coin was issued on Solana’s Pump.fun platform and skyrocketed to a valuation of $3.4 million within just 15 minutes of launch. However, its value plummeted to $28,000 in the next hour as investors scrambled to sell off. Currently, WIZ is trading at just $8,400, according to DEX Screener data.
Data from Solscan shows that two major wallets quickly purchased 155 million WIZ tokens right at launch for $19,100. They later sold off the tokens, securing massive profits totaling $160,000.
While the identity of the hacker and the method of the attack remain unknown, blockchain analyst ZachXBT suspects this is the same individual who hacked the account of Andy Ayrey, founder of Truth Terminal, on October 29. ZachXBT warned the community via Telegram:
Do not buy Wiz Khalifa tokens on Pump.fun as they were created by the same hacker responsible for the Andy Ayrey account takeover.

Although the fraudulent posts have been deleted, it remains unclear whether Khalifa has regained control of his account. Notably, just a week prior, Ayrey’s X account was similarly attacked. The hacker used it to promote multiple scam cryptocurrencies, amassing $1.5 million in illicit gains. Truth Terminal—an AI bot developed by Ayrey—previously helped the memecoin Goatseus Maximus (GOAT) reach a peak valuation of $940 million. Currently, GOAT is trading at a market cap of $544 million, down 39% from its all-time high on October 24.
