On the evening of July 15, 2025, SharpLink Gaming, a technology and digital entertainment company, announced that it has surpassed the Ethereum Foundation to become the largest holder of Ethereum (ETH) in the world, with 280,706 ETH (valued at approximately $858 million at a price of $3,000 per ETH).
SharpLink’s ETH Accumulation Strategy
From July 7 to 13, SharpLink purchased 74,656 ETH at an average price of $2,852 per ETH, totaling $156 million.
The funds came from a $413 million capital raise through a stock sale from July 7 to 11. The company currently has $257 million remaining to continue purchasing ETH.
Since May 2025, SharpLink has been accumulating ETH after raising $425 million, with Joseph Lubin, co-founder of Ethereum, serving as the Chairman of the Board.
Results
- Staking: 99.7% of SharpLink’s ETH is staked, earning 415 ETH in rewards, including 94 ETH from the previous week.
- ETH Concentration Index: Each diluted share corresponds to 2.46 ETH, a 23% increase from 2 ETH a month ago.
- SBET Shares: Increased by 21% in the 24 hours following the announcement, reaching $28.97, and up 160% over the past month, reflecting investor confidence.

Competition in the ETH Race
SharpLink is not alone. Companies like BitMine Immersion and Bit Digital are also actively accumulating ETH to compete for the lead. Currently, these businesses have purchased a total of 1.6 million ETH (approximately $5 billion, accounting for 1.33% of the total supply) as part of their accumulation strategy.
