How to Recover Ton When the Tag/Memo is Incorrect or Missing

When entering the world of cryptocurrency, you will often encounter terms like 'tag' or 'memo.' Understanding them is essential to ensure safe and accurate transactions. Let's delve into the details!

How To Recover Ton When The Tag Is Incorrect Or Missing

What is a Tag/Memo and Why is it Important?

A tag or memo is a unique identifier assigned to each account. It acts as a “detailed address” in cryptocurrency transactions, helping the system accurately identify the recipient and credit the correct account.

When sending certain cryptocurrencies, like Toncoin (TON), entering the tag/memo is mandatory for the transaction to be processed successfully.

Tag

Failing to include the Tag/Memo may allow the transaction to complete, but the funds will not be credited to your account, resulting in potential financial loss.

If you forget or omit the Tag/Memo, you should contact the customer support team of the respective exchange directly to recover the lost funds.

For sending Ton to Binance, you can submit a request via this form for assistance.

Which Transactions are Eligible for Tag/Memo Recovery?

  • Sending Ton to exchange accounts like Binance or OKX with a wrong or missing tag/memo.
  • Sending cryptocurrencies requiring a Tag/Memo, like Ton, that are listed on those exchanges.

Important Notes

  • To ensure safety, the funds will be returned to the original address after your request is confirmed.
  • If the tag/memo you entered matches that of another user, the Ton may be credited to their account.
  • A recovery service fee will be charged, based on the transaction fee of the cryptocurrency you are trying to recover.
  • If the remaining amount after deducting the fee is smaller than the minimum withdrawal amount, we will be unable to assist with the recovery.

Please I need help concerning this tag or memo. I sent Ton from Tonkeeper to my Roqque wallet without the memo and it was successful and I didn’t receive it in my wallet. But when I contacted the customer service of Roqque, they said they will not help me recover my Fund because I didn’t include the memo.
Kindly guide me on how to follow them. Thank you.
However, I will also like to let you know that, I have also sent Ton from roqque wallet to Tonkeeper without the memo and I received it which I told the customer service agent of Roqque.
It’s painful. I need help on how to recover my Fund.
