On July 30, the Ethereum Foundation officially announced the release of a special commemorative NFT collection called “Ethereum Torch,” available for free. This initiative honors the 10th anniversary of the Ethereum blockchain network.
The community can now participate in minting this NFT, but the opportunity is time-sensitive, lasting only until 4:00 PM UTC. Interested users can visit the official link to mint and own the “Ethereum Torch” collection within this limited timeframe. After this period, the minting of the NFT will officially conclude, and users will no longer have the chance to acquire this special version from the Ethereum Foundation.

Additionally, the Ethereum Foundation held a livestream celebrating Ethereum’s 10-year anniversary at 2:30 PM UTC on the same day, coinciding with the free NFT launch as part of this meaningful celebration.
The release of “Ethereum Torch” serves not only to commemorate this significant historical milestone for Ethereum but also to encourage the community to preserve memorable moments through a unique token recorded on the blockchain.

Ethereum was first introduced in 2013 by Vitalik Buterin, a talented Canadian-Russian programmer. The idea behind Ethereum was to create a blockchain platform with superior scalability and flexibility compared to Bitcoin, allowing users to deploy smart contracts and decentralized applications.
After a successful ICO in 2014, Ethereum officially launched its mainnet on July 30, 2015, with the initial version named “Frontier.” Since then, Ethereum has undergone several major upgrades, including Homestead, Byzantium, Constantinople, and notably the historic transition from the Proof of Work (PoW) consensus mechanism to Proof of Stake (PoS) through the “The Merge” upgrade in 2022.
Over its 10-year journey, Ethereum has established itself as the most influential blockchain ecosystem today. The platform has become the foundation for thousands of projects in the fields of DeFi, NFTs, Web3, and Layer 2 scaling solutions like Arbitrum, Optimism, and zkSync.
With the commemorative NFT “Ethereum Torch,” the Ethereum Foundation not only honors the community that has supported it throughout this long journey but also introduces a new way to mark important milestones on the blockchain.
